Community Spotlight: Studio Twenty Two

Community Spotlight: Studio Twenty Two

Yoga has been a cornerstone for many people looking to bring wellness into their lives. Both in the privacy of your home or in group sessions yoga is the perfect way to center yourself. Bringing balance physically, mentally, and spiritually to those who practice. This week our community spotlight is Studio Twenty Two.  Studio Twenty Two is a hot yoga, movement and wellness club located in Windsor, Nova Scotia. Studio Twenty Two offers programs for people of all ages bringing physical wellness to both children and adults alike.

Tell us a little bit about yourself Studio Twenty Two:

Studio twenty two is a wellness club for a generation seeking wonder, balance and connection. Our mission is to empower your mind, body, and spirit both on and off the mat, so you can reclaim your alignment and unlock your full potential. We offer hot yoga and movement classes as well as a preventative health clinic (hot stone massage, reflexology), infrared sauna, monthly events such as breathwork, sound healing and women’s circles. We also carry a variety of mostly local, Canadian women-owned wellness products including Sprout Therapy, and hot teas to go. We also have a “kids-club” that we offer quarterly for kids ages 4-7 & 8-12 where we teach an introduction to mindfulness and yoga.

At Studio Twenty-Two, we believe in taking care of ourselves as humans having a human experience. That means taking time to have fun, to play, and to explore who we are. Our goal is to support your journey towards optimal health and well-being by creating a safe and welcoming space for all.

How did you get your start/Where did the idea come from?

Sarah owned another yoga studio in town for 5 years prior to opening Studio Twenty Two. She is a seasoned yoga teacher with a deep passion for wellness and helping others through their journeys. When her and I (Kaylee) met in 2022, I was coming from a background of influencing and social media while starting to explore the possibilities of pivoting into wellness. We met at the perfect time, formed a connection and began dreaming of creating a wellness club in the heart of our small community. Studio Twenty Two was conceptualized over a span of just a few weeks. Even though we were just getting to know each other, we both felt like the universe had guided us together for reason and we just trusted the process and it turned out better than we could have imagined. Studio Twenty Two is a manifestation of our vision for creating a space dedicated to movement and wellness in our community.

What sets you apart from others?

One thing that we think sets us apart is that both Sarah and I are very open about our healing journeys which allows for a safe space for others to open up and share theirs. We really encourage people to just show up, no matter what they’re going through. We were also the first in Nova Scotia to use the term “wellness club” to describe what we are doing here in the valley, which we believe shows forward-thinking and inclusive approach to health and well-being.

Tell us a fun fact about Studio Twenty Two:

We get asked all of the time “why Studio Twenty Two?” And there’s actually a pretty cool answer! When Sarah and I met, one of the first things we really connected on was learning that both of us had always considered “22” to be our lucky numbers for a multitude of reasons. We were so stuck on coming up with a name that truly was right in front of us the whole time. Funnily enough, after we decided on Studio Twenty Two, we learned that in spirituality the number 22 is often referred to as the "Master Builder" because it is believed to possess the ability to turn dreams and ideas into tangible reality. It symbolizes the power to manifest one's goals and aspirations. When Sarah was having a day of questioning things before, we 100% decided that we were going ahead with this business, she pulled up in front of the studio in her car and asked the universe for a sign that she was on the right path and the song “22” by Taylor Swift came on the radio…pretty magical right!?

Another fun fact is that Sarah has been nominated for Visionary of the Year with LLS for her forward-thinking approach to movement and wellness!

Do you have any promotions running?

We do! Right now we have 5 sauna sessions on for $125. We also of course have our intro offer that is only $44 for 2-weeks of unlimited classes + a free sauna session.

What's your favourite Sprout Therapy juice?

Kaylee: Ah, I honestly love all of them, but my favourites are Super Green, Internal Youth, Detox Lemonade and the Chocolate Mylk!

Sarah: Chocolate Mylk

You can find Studio Twenty Two at 109 Gerrish Street in Windsor Nova Scotia. To learn more about what they do and have to offer visit their website. https://studiotwentytwowindsor.ca/

In January, Sprout Therapy and Studio Twenty Two partnered up to do a cleanse promotion that they blew out of the ball park. We couldn’t be happier to call them a partner in spreading wellness to the community. We highly recommend you check them out if you’re in the area or looking to find your own balance in life.
